2 years old!

My little boy turned TWO! I can't believe I haven't posted to your blog in a year! Life has been crazy and has changed so much! Daddy is back from deployment, your sister was born 8 months ago and we are living in Virginia again.

I have missed the opportunity to document many of your milestones, I'm sorry baby! I hope you grow up and don't care about the details of your life that I never updated on here. But I will give you a quick summary of all that has happened since I last posted...

When Daddy went on deployment right before your first birthday, we moved to Texas to stay with Grandma Gloria. We lived in a 2 bedroom town home and that is where you learned how to climb stairs. You became a pro within a couple of months. You were climbing stairs by the time you were 12 months! Way ahead of the milestone marker. You traveled on an airplane twice to California for Aunty Christina's wedding shower and wedding. You used to love going to the library on Mondays for Toddler Story time. You loved when Grandma would buy you fries at McDonalds. You LOVED living in Texas and so did I. Grandma gave you so much love and attention when we were there. You guys became so close. Your sister was born when you were 17 months old and you are currently a little bit jealous of her.

Right now I am trying hard to get you to talk more. You still speak in your own language but have some words you say pretty well.  Here are all the words/phrases I can think of that you say right now:

Also, today you did something pretty cool! You recognized and matched these colored balls to their correct color spot. I was so excited to see that! You also love to brush your teeth, help me in the kitchen, color with crayons on blank paper, put your shoes on, walk Petey outside, throw his poopy bag in the trash, pour Petey's water bowl into his food bowl, pull lots and lots of toilet paper off the roll and throw it in the toilet and wave bye bye to it as you try to flush the toilet, watch Sesame Street (Elmo is your favorite), take off your diaper and run around naked, pretend to talk on a phone with anything that is in your hand, do most things by yourself.

Cain's 1st Birthday!

Cain is now 13 months old. He had his FIRST birthday last month on July 12. We celebrated at home because the weather was stormy outside and we couldn't drive him anywhere fun. He enjoyed the birthday song but was scared of the cake :)

Lots of changes have happened since the last post at 8 months old.

1. He learned to walk at 8 1/2 months!! Ever since then his personality has really revealed itself. He is sweet, nurturing, curious, silly and stubborn.
2. He has also started having tantrums. They are pretty funny to watch but now comes the hard part of parenting: disciplining even when you think what they're doing is funny. I haven't really disciplined him yet, I think he's still too young. But I ignore his little outbursts and then he stops. He is such a handful already. But I love him. He's my little boo boo bear :)
3. He finally met his grandparents! They came to visit him in June and Cain fell in love with them. His grandpa taught him how to say "no" by shaking his head. It is still his favorite thing to communicate, to this day :)
4. Cain also met his aunties, uncle and cousins in California. He had the most fun playing with his cousins in San Diego :)
5. Cain had his first road trip this summer. We drove from Virginia to Texas to stay with Nana while Daddy is deployed.
6. Cain is going to be a big brother! His present arrives around Christmas of this year! :)

8 months

My little man is growing so fast! He learned how to crawl just a few days ago and yesterday he already WALKED a few steps by himself before falling to the floor! :) All he wants to do lately is practice walking followed by chasing Petey all over the house. He is fascinated by Petey's fluffy tail. Petey is starting to get annoyed with him but is very patient and sweet to him. Petey is such a kind soul. It's funny because when I walk Petey and Cain at the park, Petey is the one who gets all the "ahhhs" and compliments about his cuteness. Poor Cain, Petey steals his show :)

Cain has been a late bloomer on solids- but the past few days he has showed an interest in them. He's had pears, banannas and sweet potatoes. Yum! His favorite food in the whole world is still milk :)

Cain is growing like a weed!

It's been a few months since we've updated Cain's blog. He has since sprouted his two bottom teeth, been sampling a few solids (mainly banana yogurt) and rolls all over the house. He is still learning to crawl- he almost has it! I'll update some more pics soon.
